Show Notes

Ben Blom is the Director of Restoration at Save the Redwoods League. The League is embarking on the largest restoration project in North America, targeting 70,000+ acres of redwood forests in need of a little TLC. The catch? The League is going to use some of the same tools—chainsaws and heavy equiptment—that caused the degradation in the first place. Alex Leumer is a policy consultant and Sacramento insider. In this week's show, Alex breaks down some legislation she's excited about—Assemblybill 263, which would create new temporary instream flow requirements in the Shasta and Scott Rivers—and looks at how budget issues might impact conservation bills in the coming year.
